A Guide to Our Goats
Breeds We Have On Our Farm
The Angora
Nigerian Dwarf Goats

Angora goats are
a gentle, curious
breed best known
for their beautiful,
silky mohair fleece.
They have a sweet
and calm nature,
and their unique
coats give them an
elegant, almost
storybook look.
Both hardy and
charming, Angoras bring
a special mix of beauty, personality, and fiber value to the farm. We currently have about 6 Angoras.

Nigerian Dwarf goats
are the heart of our
farmand the breed
that started it all for
us. Small in size but
full of personality,
they are friendly,
playful, and incredibly
lovable. We keep
around 40 Nigerian Dwarfs
here at Kaizen Ridge,
and they continue to be our
main goat breed and a huge
part of what makes our farm
so special.

original goats, Sweetpea)

The Nigora
Nigoras are our own special “designer goat” — a cross between our Nigerian Dwarfs and Angoras, created to combine the best of both breeds. Our goal is to produce a goat with the smaller, compact size and personality of a Nigerian Dwarf, paired with the soft, fluffy fiber and beautiful look of an Angora. They’re unique, adorable, and a fun reflection of the kind of breeding program we love building here at the farm, we have about 20.

The Rescues
At Kaizen ridge Farm, one of our favorite projects is the rescue and rehabilitation of goats. We have rescued nearly 100 goats from shelters, meat auctions and from surrenders of farms that could no longer care for them. Because of this, we have collected quite an odd arrangement of goats- many of whom have become farm favorites.

Meet Reggie
Don't worry, Reggie has been rocking the earless lock since birth. He's a LaMancha, a breed of goat born without ears. Reggie was surrendered along with his 2 brothers in March of last year. Since we took him in, he has gained a much needed 15 pounds and is now much healthier and stronger.

He may look a little strange, but Reggie is as sweet and cuddly as they come.

This is Dora, her and her sister Isa are baby Spanish goats. They were on their way to auction when we quickly bough them and their brother Diego.

They may look a little scruffy, but their rehabilitation is going very well, and they are beginning to enjoy the love of people again
